I’ve recently completed my dissertation regarding the history and distinctiveness of Indonesia’s science fiction culture, and I believe this website would be a great place to present my findings.
So first of all, any thoughts or questions regarding science fiction in general? Do I need to clarify what science fiction is? Hmmm?

Boy am I glad to have stumbled upon your blog! I was googling away in hopes of finding sf fans in Indonesia. At first, I honestly didn’t think that I would find anything significant, as my lack of experience informs me. To my elation–and my embarrassment, mind you–not only did I find out that Indonesia already has a burgeoning sf community, but that someone is actually making a dissertation out of it!
I would be very interested to hear about your thoughts and findings, as I’ve (only recently) been turned to the idea of academically pursuing sf–bearing in mind to differentiate pop culture sci-fi from its “weightier” cousin, speculative fiction–as a literary genre with prospective transformational force in Indonesia.
Please, do post about some history of science fiction, especially in regards to its development in Indonesia (something I doubt anyone will find on Wikipedia).
